I'm leaning towards FRAGGIE. :)
It’s a no contest!

Each to their own, but I just don't see the attraction of paying a fair chunk of money for the "privilege" of displaying a different set of letters and numbers to the front and back of my car. :idunno:

I prefer to think of it as a "stealth tax" by the DVLA on vain people. :fuelfire:

I get that, and as I said I have some conflict in my decision to put a private reg on my coupe. Ultimately though I've got a 3 litre two seater, and judgemental types will likely think I'm a prat in the grip of a mid-life crisis whether I put on the private plate or not.

I don't know whether it's vanity so much, but I see an upside in removing the plate that screams "this car is 12 years old".

I've made the decision toassign the private plate to my coupe. I got my V5 today, I'll do it later.

I don’t mind private plates, but I abhor badly/dodgily/illegally-spaced plates.

If you’ve got to mis-space, alter the font, add screws, etc. to make it say what you want, then I think vanity has overcome sense.

#1 saw one on a RangeRover on Tuesday ‘MR 61BB R’ - but I’d bet he’d be on pistonheads straight away if plod had the temerity to pull him over for it :headbang:

#2 saw CHRISSY on something too, but it was actually something like CH12•SSV
Trigger’s Z4MC
Some bits now over 163,000 miles, some less than 1,000 miles.

After many years of resisting private plates I finally caved in and bought 'V8VBT' for my V8 Vantage.

Plates + documentation should arrive next week...

Private plates are the second most contentious subject on the forum, after M badges on non-m cars :D
