De-Limit Top Speed on Z4C
I was quite taken aback at how 'low-geared' my E86 3.0si Coupe was at higher speeds on the trip to Greece from Northern Germany.....terrifically flexible in certain higher gears as a result but sometimes felt like I wanted to reach for 7th! An enjoyable sound emitted as a result! I hit 265kph (164.7 mph) in 6th on many stretches where allowed....held at 250 kph (155mph) for many km on one quiet stretch....a little busy at the front end at times but always felt 'planted' especially when taking long bends . All speeds indicated of course.....had I used the sat nav I would had a more accurate idea of speed. For sure though, the speedo is no way big enough....needs another 40kph on it as the car really doesn't feel 'flat out' Previously, I have touched 165mph on an 88 Porsche 928S4 I owned (with Porsche Technics 4 inch exhaust)...it felt like it was still increasing and was up a slight long incline....like the 928, the Z4 steering seemed to go heavy at high speed to prevent over-correction but I don't know if this automatic system is fitted by BMW?
Jan 2007 E86 Z4 3.0si Coupe high spec in Monaco Blue Metallic/Champagne/Piano currently on 18 inch CW4 Sterling Silver Borbets....
I intend to live forever.....or at least die trying!......Groucho Marx

The speedo should read 180mph imo.

De-Limit Top Speed on Z4C
I've tried a few times but obviously at the wrong times according to a few on here , watch out for Eastern European truck drivers and Germans that really do obey the temporary speed limits that are invariably in place , good luck , try later in the day as every time I've tried early morning it's been trucker nightmare . I've never tried later on an evening as I like a few beers after a Nurburgring session
