Sorry but which Z4 is it?

Post by jock156 » Tue Mar 20, 2018 6:29 pm

As I've admitted on my "Hello" thread I'm new to this BMW numbering/ letters system. I'm trying to download the correct Owners Manual and email it to the printers rather than bending over and let someone shaft me for £80 on Ebay!

So on the V5C/2 form it says...................

BMW
Z4 SPORT

Date of registration 27 03 2006

PETROL

1995 CC

So what E number is it? LOL

TIA

Use the 2005 roadster one. The header says E86 but this is a typo as the roadster is E85.
No probs with it being 2005, the changes from year to year weren't that big, plus yours I'd early 2006 registration so was probably built late 2005 anyway.
Run the VIN number through a decoder website if you want more info on your car.
Darkness gone, go Darknes2, go Frozen, go Tronic

Did you not even take the time to click on the link the guy posted? Next time actually read someone's post before immediately posting a reply. It saves everyone a lot of time.
OP here's your manual. The owner's manual will be the same for both models of the 2006 roadster. I am sorry you had to deal with the incompetent members of this forum. They often have trouble answering questions.

The OP has a2006 model year facelift car. So if 6cyl will be the N52 engine, not the M54 in the 2005 manual.

Not the end of the world, but worth noting for oil capacities etc.

When all's said and done, the OP says the car is 1995 cc - so it's a 2 litre...

Thanks guys for the support. I'm feeling low after an operation and appreciate the Z4 love !

Anyway, it looks like no-one has found a 2 litre manual, so the best we can do is point the OP to the nearest one, which will be relevant for most stuff on using the car to it's best in normal daily use. I still think it is better to go one year earlier rather than a manual that is later than the car - on the basis that BMW make big changes during model year switchovers (usually during the annual plant maintenance shutdown).
