Sorry to see this Mike, My wife thinks ive got a serious case of OCD over my Z, it never goes near a supermarket car park unless im sat in it while the wife goes shopping, when we visit our two sons I get them to take their cars off their driveways so I can put the Z on, its a constant worry because a lot of people have no respect for our pride and joys :(

On the bright side..... ok, there isn't one
Hope you get it sorted, as others have mentioned, it looks pretty deep so 'it'll buff out' doesn't look to be the case.
Sometimes you have to wonder if people go out of their way to do this just for sh1ts and giggles, or if they really are spectacularly crap drivers. :headbang:

You must be absolutely fuming. Sorry to see this Mike. Hope you can get the silly cow to pay for the repair. Hopefully you might get her to pay for the rear bumper also ;)

Extremely annoying and a reason for me not to want to go anywhere to park anymore :(

Not sure if that’s possible in reality or how the ‘rules’ change when on private land?

That’s bad luck though, hope the repair goes smoothly
Police is not interested, I had a case for my mother in law with witnesses that the culprit drove away and the police state that if there are no injuries they don't come out / are not interested.

Things like this are one of the reasons I haven't bothered having my front end resprayed, it's peppered in stone chips but with the dumb sods around these days I'd rather not have the constant worry, especially as its my daily driver.

So, update - We have her reg and the security guy says you can clearly see her not only hit it, but get out and check HER car for damage without giving mine a second look

Spoken to police, and they aren't bothered one little bit - It'd be different if I was doing 35mph in a 30 zone though...

Luckily one of my good friends is a solicitor specialising in accident claims :)

Just sent him the reg, and within the hour a claim will be presented directly to her insurers, he is also writing to CPC to get a copy of the video.

Karma....

Really boils my piss to hear the police won't do anything. As you say if you were speeding they would fine you in a heartbeat :x

Result :)

It's a shame there will probably be no punitive measures against her as a result of not reporting the accident :(

Well done tracking her down Mike. I’d love to see her face when she receives the solicitors letter. I bet your blood was boiling when you saw the security tape, especially when she only checked HER car for damage :x

The Met were willing to prosecute for failing to stop hen my car had been hit a few years back, no CCTV just a witness, ended up going to the Magistrates court.
If you really want, you can try to push them into action but you're likely to just get the same disinterested copper even with what appears to be a slam dunk.

Private prosecution is also possible...

Hope it gets sorted soon.
The only downside is that if it does go through insurance come renewal time your insurance will go up for being involved in an accident even though it's not your fault and you weren't even in the car car! And you will have to declare it for the next five years.
As annoying as it is sometimes it's better to just bite the bullet and get it resprayed yourself.
Let's hope she will pay without going through insurance .
