In case he doesn’t find the thread, you need to climb into the boot on your back and loosen off the torx screws that hold the aluminum frame to the shell. Once you have enough loosened you need to tug the frame away from the area the bolt is, then loosen the bolt off from inside the boot.
A PITA to do - I’ve had to do it twice - and when I did it the second time I simply didn’t bother putting that bolt back on; the panel is held on there securely with like 7 other bolts. IIRC you need to have the roof delatched from the windscreen and only a couple of inches ‘down’ so there no tension on the roof whilst you’re loosing the frame and pulling it away.
Other than that it’s an easy job to do

Replacing rear quarter panel
I replaced mine recently and the guide is in the “how to” section - far easier than unbolting the roof

Replacing rear quarter panel
doubt you can PDR that, its on the crease. The panel isn't welded in , but it IS glued on in several spots. Its not just undo the bolts and she comes right off.
can't you just bog it up and re-spray it?

Might that depend on build date? I've swapped an O/S/R wing from a 06 to an 05 car and can't remember there being any glued areas on either car.

I've had to swap out both rear wings and 1 front wing on a 03 E85; definitely not glued on that model.Sidewaze Samm wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 3:09 pmMight that depend on build date? I've swapped an O/S/R wing from a 06 to an 05 car and can't remember there being any glued areas on either car.
