Practical Classic photoshoot - early Z4 request

Post by VickyD » Mon Mar 05, 2018 3:03 pm

Hi Folks
Apologies if this breaks any rules but I can't seem to send a permission request to the moderators - I think it's because I'm a newbie?
If this gets taken down I will understand why :D

Practical Classics are doing a buying on the Z4 and we would like to get an early Z4 into the studio which is in Derby. There is a fuel budget available for this shoot and you will get a set of the pictures taken on the day for your personal use along with a copy of the magazine once published.

I can't use a modified car, it has to be a factory standard car, it can have any number of options on there and be of any spec but it must be factory standard.

It also needs to be a 'colour' car, a white car will tend to get lost in the white studio and a black car makes the page look monochromatic. Red, blue, yellow etc really makes the car stand out on the page.

The studio is open 7 days a week and a shoot takes about 3 hours so we can usually fit around any work patterns if necessary.

If you are interested please can you send a picture of your car to [email protected] and say whereabouts in the country you are based - this helps me get the fuel budget sorted. I will answer any questions that you have and hopefully we can get something sorted if anyone is interested.

Many thanks for your time
Vicky Dredge

Bloody hell! Are we driving classics now?!😂
Seriously though I guess some early e85 are nearly 15 years old now in the UK.
Vicki im sure they will be plenty of takers for this and i can't see why the mods will have a problem this as we had something similar a year or two back. Good luck with it.

Hi Mack
Thank you for this, yes the minute you tip over that 15 year mark you become a classic - as does your car :driving:
I appreciate that some of the classic car 'purists' will disagree, but we are getting into the 'my dad had one of those when I was a kid' territory once a car model hits fifteen - it is a bit scary!

I have an unfettered 2003 2.5i in Maldives Blue that would be ideal - but I am down in Kent. Dont have studios down here then?

I guess I'm just old. Anything from the 90s onwards I still think of as fairly modern but that's nearly 30 years these days!🤣

I have the same car as Paulr but a 3.0i auto with beige interior. Unmodified except for wheel spacers.

I am up for this but I am 3 hour drive away so if someone closer wants to do it then they can

Hi Paul
Unfortunately not and you're right that would be a lovely example to put forward to the Art Editor!

Mack - I do agree with you but as you say late 80's / early 90's is definitely classed as classic era territory - but seems like only a couple of years ago!

I have a 2003 example with a rare classic wood dash and sort after beige leather. I have fitted another set of alloy wheels
, but they are a Z4 wheel option for my year, so still standard. It is blue and still has the factory option whippy Arial (rare)
