hardtop

Post by pell » Fri Feb 23, 2018 8:44 am

hi, well i bought a hardtop last night in sterling grey with all fixing covers, tool and cover for hardtop, £700 in great condition and was only 8 miles away, i love my soft top but the hard looks ok in my opinion, reason for buying was because i may be losing my garage space so will have to park on road outside my house and a rag top is very appealing for kids to cut, anyway i will post pics this weekend, thanks everyone, Alan.

Same here. The hardtops profile is much more pleasing to look at than the fabric roofs.

I spent the best part of a grand getting a new fabric roof fitted and it's spent the last 8 months tucked away underneath the hardtop

I've considered a hard top, but after lots and lots of looking just can not get past the fact that where it joins the body just doesn't look correct, it looks to after market. (Sorry about stealing your image to highlight what i mean)

As and when I actually find the right E85 for me, a hard top will be on my shopping/wish list. So a couple of questions:

How comprehensive is the fitting kit and how difficult/awkward is it to fit the kit to a car?

On the MX5, the hardtop can be stolen by simply getting in through a smashed window, flipping four clips and lifting it off. How secure is the (more rare and more expensive) Z4 hardtop?

Cheers
