Which new battery for my 2008 2.0i ??

Post by JINGLE » Thu Feb 22, 2018 3:08 pm

Hi all me again, there’s a sale on at eurocarparts 50% off batteries so it’s reminded me I want to upgrade mine.

It works fine as is but every now and then it takes an extra second or so to start so I assume it’s the battery struggling? (We’re only talking a couple of times through the winter, nothing major)

I’ll take a photo of the battery currently in there after work for clarification, but I’m pretty sure it’s the original bmw battery and the little circle has turned black which I think is a sign of a dud battery??

Anyway, any suggestions on what would be best for my 2008 2.0i would be great!

Thanks

These sort of sales pop up regularly with these and their competitor gsf etc. I'd save the money till you definetly need it. It could even be the starter and not the battery or possibly the ignition switch etc .

I’m thinking it’s worth preempting a dead battery anyway, see photo below.... guessing it’s original and not in the best state (the black dot??)

I know it’s not yellow but I don’t want to get caught out 1 morning In this weather for the sake of £50 for a new battery that will last for the next how ever many years?
