 no worries. If I remember right I thought I saw that production started around September 02 so I’m curious who’s got one from right off the line from the beginning.

Mine is a UK March 2003 build and was a BMW launch car. The launch car designation is on the spec sheet and pre-dates what would be known usually as press cars.

I'll need to get a photo of the production date label on mine, took this one a while back to get the paint code!

If you look up the car details using the chassis number on whatever that site is, (BMW VIN Decoder?) you will bet the exact build date down to the day and details of all the options included. A lot more accurate than a sticker in the sticker on the door pillar. Ours is 19/8/03 and the interior colour is black with 'chrome line' interior according to the build sheet, however it is in fact red with walnut dash and console trims.

After several months scouring the country for a one owner Z, I just picked up this very stock 3.0i right in my own backyard, with a build date of September 4, 2002. It was originally purchased and owned by an older gentleman whose wife said "he drove it like an old lady". Almost perfect condition, all original, and only 45,200 miles. Runs really strong!
