Talking to a fellow local member who has Carly about getting a few things coded on my E85.
They have a E89 and their Carly dongle is the Bluetooth one, does my E85 need a wired adapter?
Assuming that their pro version of the app is still compatible even though they have a E89?

The E85/86 needs a hard wired adaptor if you are using an Android phone/tablet - Not sure on the IOS though.

WiFi dongle with iOS on my e86... have used this on both pre and post facelift Z4s without issue.
Pro version of the app is compatible with all BMW models, I have used it on 1 series and 3 series too, just need to select the model you're connecting too!

E85 Carly Coding - Bluetooth or wired?
So far as I know, Bluetooth for Android. Wifi for iOS (Apple).
Wired cable is for computers or something? I'm sure the OBDII port leads to a USB.
Regardless, if someone has an adapter and a phone with the app, it'll work on any Zed (pre or post facelift) and as Chris1981 says will work on most BMW models built over the last 15 years or so.

E85 Carly Coding - Bluetooth or wired?
As above - Wifi adaptor is fine for our cars (E85/86) using an IOS device, but won't work with bluetooth as IOS doesn't support the right communications via bluetooth. Bluetooth adaptor should be fine if used with an Android device.

Yeh, the wired cable is typically for Android tablets and phones - it includes a USB to micro usb lead so you can plug it in.
Personally I was a bit worried about doing coding over a wireless connection just in case it drops out half way through or something so I went wired with an old Hudl tablet (which crashes halfway through 'cause the battery's s**t ).
