Have any of you guys had your tyres fitted at Costco? The reason I ask is I was in my local one pricing up some goodyears and they said they would not fit them (or the Michelins) to my car as they are not BMW recommended fitment. I.e. they don't have the"star" on them.

That was including the discount for buying 2 tyres from Blackcircles.
That was my plan but fronts have been discontinued (Vredstein Sessanta)
Thanks for all the advice. After reading the EVO review and people's experience I think I'll go for the Michelin PS4. Looks like a good mix of dry/wet performance, comfort, noise and wear level. Blackcircles the best place to get them or any other shops worth considering?

Just had PS4s installed all round. Now as they're still new obviously I haven't scrubbed them in, nor had any chance to drive them properly, but I can offer a few comparisons.
Wet grip, miles ahead of the previous Pirelli P zero
Noise, much quieter. Still not the quietest, as you'd expect on these cars anyway, but very good.
Feedback, excellent. Feels much more connected, if you get me.
Absolutely worth the cost! Very happy with my purchase.

That's typical costco tyre bay crap to be honest. For example they usually won't entertain non runflats on a originally runflat equipped car or a slight change of profile sidewall or a 10mm tyre change etc Quoting health and safety bollocks. Either buy elsewhere, or get them fitted elsewhere, or failing that just take them the wheels and get them to fit whatever tyre your after. Ive done that before! To be honest these days unless one of their money back promotions is on there's usually better value elsewhere anyway.Dave1971 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2018 10:27 pmHave any of you guys had your tyres fitted at Costco? Same. I went from a set of tramlining Bridgestone Potenzas to a full set of PS4s.mjennings23 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2018 11:56 pmJust had PS4s installed all round. My tyres used to always spin in the wet and sometimes in the dry (with 5/6 mm of tread on them albeit [the fronts] were the same ones that came with the car in 2007).
The PS4s have transformed the car, the wet handling is a lot better, it’s harder to make the rears spin, braking performance has improved and the tramlining has disappeared.
A good set of tyres is probably the most ‘best value for money’ modification you can do on these.
Can’t wait to fully test them out on an empty roundabout

You've both got me sold. Currently have the Potenzas all round and the car tramlines like mad, especially when its cold outside.
I thought it could be that some of the bushes needing to be replaced as its knocking on the door of 115k.
I've had a succession of PS2's and PS3's on my 330D for the past few years and I cannot fault them.
Think I will start squirreling away the cash to change to the PS4's in the next few months.

Might be worth getting a wheel alignment when you swap them over buddy.EVM wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2018 11:21 amR60BBA, mjennings23

I'd be tempted to get the bushes checked out prior to any tyre change as you don't want any funny wear on the new ones. If you cant/don't want to do it yourself it's well worth half an hours labour at a decent indie or specialist to get them to put it up on a ramp and take a quick look. Especially when you consider the cost of four new tyres.

Never had a problem with my 2 local Costco's Had non run flats fitted to misses mini and no star rated tyres fitted to my M3, I have found Costco one of the best tyre fitters I have used to be honest, take care and do a good job and great prices.MACK wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2018 1:14 amThat's typical costco tyre bay crap to be honest. Manchester and Oldham are the two I have experience of or have heard bad things about. My most recent direct experience was at Manchester where they wouldn't entertain m tyre sizes for my zed in late 2016. They cited the issues of runflat to non runflat and the sidewall profile change, even though I told them my car didn't have runflats to start with and I'd sign a disclaimer etc. They stated they weren't allowed to go away from oem spec. That said they were quite happy for me to either buy the tyres and have then fitted elsewhere or if I brought just the wheels in and told them they were off a m they fit what I wanted!hopz121 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2018 1:04 pmNever had a problem with my 2 local Costco's Had non run flats fitted to misses mini and no star rated tyres fitted to my M3, I have found Costco one of the best tyre fitters I have used to be honest, take care and do a good job and great prices.MACK wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2018 1:14 amThat's typical costco tyre bay crap to be honest. Then just a few months back a colleague told me how the Oldham store wouldnt let him switch from 235 to the cheaper 225 width on his scirocco
