Number plate plinth
Properly been ask loads but I can find it
If I remove the number plate plinth what does it look like once removed is there any body work that needs to be carried out or is it smooth behind it ?

The plinth is riveted to the bumper in FIVE places no less. A numberplate covers the holes..
Here is my old bumper and replacement facelift when I was painting it. I chose to remove the plinth, but also filled the holes.

So it needs body work once the plinth is removed to get a smooth finish ?

You can see the rivets on the furthest bumper in Ducklakeview’s picture, so you will be left with 5 small holes. If you’re planning to put a standard plate back in its place then it won’t be visible. If you want to run a small plate then they will need filling and spraying.

I prefer it with the plinth gone anyway, holes or no holes as long as you can't see them. But then I have a European style licence plate frame and with that over the top of the plinth it's all a bit too bulky.

I removed my plinth and used 2 of the holes underneath to secure the number plate back. Nothing visible now.

Much prefer the "plinthless" look...

No doubt some will say no plinth makes the car lighter and gives you another 30 bhp.
