Z4 - 1st gen E85/E86 - Mileage Poll

Post by Jameszy » Wed Jun 09, 2021 12:15 pm

I'll be going for the big 100,000 some time in the next few months, as the car is currently on 98500 or so.

Bought the car just under 2.5 years ago at about 77,000 miles, so it has had good use despite lock down for a year.

I haven't seen any deterioration in performance over those 20,000+ miles. Fuel economy seems better if anything - managed to get just under 40mpg over 150 miles from London to Bristol.

Mines jumped 2 bands since I last did this. 70k now or as near as makes no difference.

It’s nice having a fresh, low miler but I wouldn’t trade all the fun and experiences I’ve had for a smaller number on the odometer and a few grand extra on the value. In fact, I would like to use it more. Here’s to the next 70k!

My unusually low mileage E85 is still currently in the 5-10k band, but my 2500 mile Pyrenees tour in July will edge it into the next one!

I was trying to put more miles on mine by just taking it for a 15 minute run every week. Spending over £2 a litre now for v power and my heavy foot getting 17mpg is going to put a dent in those plans.

Selling price is going to take a hammering in the next 12-18 months especially with the incoming recession. Markets all down again today. Crypto obliterated. American markets down 3% and Tesla down 7% today alone. It's now effectively half price from its peak.

Bought 8 months ago with 95k miles, now approaching 101k already. It gets used several times a week and all year round :driving:

Despite the NC 500 run from just north of Bristol last year I'm still in the 30-40 band on an 04 plate :)
