Best Modified Z4 Coupe & Roadsters?
Mine is still a work in progress, but everything is declared.
As yet I haven’t fitted Fishy Dave’s AP BBK, that’s a job for early March.

If you really like it, its for sale (and has been for the last 3 years or so, he can't seem to get rid of it)PerryGunn wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2018 10:38 amIMO, one of the best was was Femme Taken's supercharged Alpina RS - after a crash he he rebuilt it virtually from the bodyshell up... Out of interest, do you remember how much he was asking?

I think somewhere around the €50k mark.
But mind you, these are mainland prices (for comparison: a z4m starts at aroudn €30k, a (stock) roadster s is probably a little bit cheaper)

So he’s asking only marginally more than a stock car. I suppose the modifications and complete rebuild offset the crash history. It’s probably a good buy for someone in the market for an Alpina.

He's asking twice the price of what a stock car now about costs. (estimating that a stock roadster S now costs about 25k?)
I think that crash that he had was only minor damage (some small dents & scuffs). I've seen pictures of it on his forum.

I misunderstood your post. I thought you meant the stock Alpina is a little cheaper than the €50k he’s asking, not a little less than the ///M.
In that case, it does explain why he hasn’t been able to sell it.

True, its a lot of money, but still way less than he paid for the mods (only the diff is 3,5k, the supercharger is (currently) 10k! @ess )
Selling a modified car is either impossible or taking a big financial hit.
Thats why I probably never sell mine (that and that its awesome , having done everything myself theoretically I could reverse virtually everything in a long weekend or so)
Also found the pics of his crash:
He writes damage to door, sideskirt, rim and rear mudguard.
Nothing structual, just cosmetic.
damage to the other car:
broken plastic bumper.

I don't think that that was the accident that led to the rebuild though - on his website he says 'March [2007] ended on a down note after kissing a tree, damaging the left rear suspension, wheels and body work'GuidoK wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2018 4:23 pmTrue, its a lot of money, but still way less than he paid for the mods (only the diff is 3,5k, the supercharger is (currently) 10k! @ess )

It’s amazing how similar the Zed looks to a Nissan Micra when the front bumper’s been wrenched offGuidoK wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2018 4:23 pmTrue, its a lot of money, but still way less than he paid for the mods (only the diff is 3,5k, the supercharger is (currently) 10k! @ess )

So many people just don’t seem to understand that modified cars (usually) aren’t worth the value of the car plus the value of the mods...
Are there any pics from the crash referred to by Perry?

Mines had a couple of mods
But being a 2.0i I’m fully aware of the whole all show and no go associated with me but I simple couldn’t afford the bigger engine at the time (let alone bloody find another 1 in White at the time)

Hi Jingle,
I LOVE your car! It's one of the best looking ones i have seen so far even if it's a 2.0L.
The wheels and bumpers look amazing and the white and red is spot on!

Looks great! A good candidate for the “all-red” rear lights mod if you’re wondering what to do next.
2008 Z4MC: heavy wheels | crap suspension | skittish rear end | wobbly engine | not enough induction noise | underwhelming turn in | inconsistent braking | lardy battery | chubby steering wheel
