Gutted!

At least the spoiler made it intact... My dad has a paint qualification so I'll see what he can do. I have the paint already to do the rear bumper. Still, it was all going so well!

More conclusive pic.

Thats bad.
What happened to the pad?
Was it old and just disintegrated?
It looks like its been sat over the aerial base till it wore out.

Brand new pad bought especially for the job, that's the cutting pad... needless to say the polishing pad pad is now redundant. They're supposed to be decent pads too from what I've read.
I don't know what went first, the pad or me.
I'd done a reet good job of the other side too

did you try isopropanol?

this will remove burned in polishing wax/stuff

Had a same experience and could get rid of it with isopropanol!

Here in Germany I had to go to a pharmacy to buy it!

I've not tried anything on it yet but thanks for the tip I'll give it a go.

I'm waiting on a quote for a smart repair, does anybody know the going rate for these kind of things?

Don’t loose any sleep - it will mend!
My new 35is was only weeks old when I gave the garage door a nudge
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

I'd suggest a good chips away guy could get that to a 95% perfect for £150-ish....depends on what is acceptable for you. If you want 100% then it'll be a £300 respray job. :?

Wheheyy!! Turns out it did polish out! Praise to the Lord Bilt Hamber! Time for :beerdive:

It obviously looked much worse than it was. Bilt Hamber Cleanser Fluid followed by Cleanser Polish did the trick.
The rest of the car needs a good clean now and I can finish the job :)
