Can’t tell if the paintwork is damaged or it’s just pieces of the polishing pad?

You need some shorter valves on those tyres :)

I can't tell by the pic but are you using your machine polisher without the side handle ?

Is that a rotary polisher or a da?

I had all the same questions but it's difficult to tell just from the photos exactly what has happened and if those marks are actually damage to the paintwork/clear coat. If it is then there's really only one solution...and we all know what that is. :(

It's a rotary. The handle has gone missing which is probably why I lost my balance.

It does look like polish but it's taken the paint with it too. There's two of them just on the boot lid, the first pic is just the aftermath of the exploded polishing pad.

Ha! Wasn't really on my mind but I'm swapping the tyres over to Conti Sport Contact 5's later :)

Doesn't look too bad, just get a smart repair done and polish it back up.

I don't think it's one that will polish up but I'll give it a try. On the far right of the last picture I think it's gone down through the paintwork.
