And as for red seats not working in a blue car - If its a dramatic look you are after it kinda works imo:

Not a bmw recommended colour scheme if you look at the Z4 brochure (///M certainly)

Hmmm... I'm still not sold on the red on blue look. If you have any ideas other than the blue I'm all ears though. I couldn't think past blue or grey, the white and off white didn't look good at all. I included the Purple Blue to kind of deviate on colour a little but I'm not sure it would work.

Another vote for Mondial blue.

I think some of the Z3's had black seats with blue centres on a blue car. Will look for some pictures.

I would do the whole seats , not just the centre strip, as I am not keen on blue and black leather together, don't suit each other.

Mocked up an old photo to test a deep red and a dark purple, I don't know if I like them or hate them.

I'm thinking of sacking this idea off for a while, colour can be so subjective I don't want to get it wrong and balls it all up completely. Black looks tidy I just have this compulsive urge to go bold all the time! I might reign this one in.

It doesn't look so bad as it is

Lots of examples on images under google search for "bmw z3 blue/black seats".

I love the red interiors, but I wouldn't want to put red in my Montego Blue car FWIW.

Just a thought, but Pearl grey centres with blue bolsters might look good (just to add to your options). :)
Coupes because stunning!

I know, I'm probably not helping!

But to be fair once you've made a decision you should end up with something really special - and I'm looking forward to the photos!
