Daft question, how many wear sensors do I need? 1 or 2?

If the current ones work and they're looking ok, then just reuse them.

If you need/want to replace you need one each for front and rear.

If re-using, just unclip from the old pad and leave the other end in situ, clip into new pad, job done :)

Which ones? The OPs or DLVs
I have just replaced discs that are in better shape than DLVs

3.0i rear brakes

Fitted mine today and replaced the brake fluid, well I nearly did, last wheel I came to, front driver, someone had rounded off the bleed nipple so I couldn't bleed out the air on that leg. So left it till new arrives, on order for Friday, so it's off the road till then.
Didn't fit the rear handbrake shows in the end, as current were good and every free and cleaned up okay. (Wish I'd bought spare nipples though !!)

Are people checking the run out after fitting the discs? Rear were fine, but fronts were not as good, and all was cleaned up with emery paper etc. Will see what it's like when back on the road.

A little update. Summer has passed by without getting round to sorting my brakes. Now its MOT time.... expecting the worse the rollers gave surprisingly high readings of 260 & 250 for the rear axle. I did get an advisory for pitted rear discs though. Onto to Euro Car Parts & a 50% off brakes offer so I ordered some Pagid discs & pads which I duly fitted Saturday afternoon. Everything came apart easily, cleaned up & went back together well. The pads I took out were hardly worn, so I 've no idea what caused the wear shown in the pictures. But all is good now

As an alternative for the future, Meyle are OEM BMW suppliers of many parts.

You can go the BREMBO route (& May have to advise insurance co), though with these which I’ve used on other cars found the discs are perfect if you’re not tracking car, thought don’t have experience of Meyle pads BMW Z3 E36 3.0 Z4 E85 2.5si 3.0 BRAKE DISC MEYLE PLATINUM BRAKE PADS FRONT https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 1104293064
