if i hadnt seen those philips racingvision ones, i would have said osram nightbreakers.

though those philips racingvision ones are pricey!

also, have you tried adjusting the aim of the headlights? on an old E90 i had with halogens, turning the adjuster up 3 turns made far more of a difference than brighter bulbs did.

I need to see what I have in the car at the moment, but my guess is they're the originals. Just want the best bang fore my buck and don't really want to go down the conversion route.

Now they look interesting. Completely plug and play/MOT compliant?

I have a similar set in my work vehicle and there completely plug and play as is with the H7 halogen bulbs.
Cant comment on MOT regs but i wouldn't of thought it would fail on them. You'd have to have a really arsey tester.

not sure you can any more, i believe as of this year MOT rules have been changed to the following:

'Existing halogen headlamp units should not be converted to be used with high intensity discharge (HID) or light emitting diode (LED) bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp.'

Point 4.1.4

Shame. Although I guess for the minimal time it takes to switch out bulbs at MOT time, may be worth it.

In projector lamps there is really no way to definitely tell, assuming stupid colour temps are not used. So the benefit of doubt still applies.
