Mitsubishi EVO X
I almost bought one of these instead of the Z4 Coupe.
The base model is a good spec and it's quicker than even a Z4 M! and actually cost new the same as I paid for my 7 month old Z4. The reason I didn't buy one was there is a waiting list!

Anyway, I am well pleased with my Z4 but I saw one of the new EVO's last night!! Looked impressive on the road!
Now, question is, did I make the right choice?

Re: Mitsubishi EVO X
Looks like it has a lot of body roll.. Doesnt sound like much either. Looks mean though and i'm sure it's monumentaly fast point to point. A Z4 wouldnt see which way it went.
But yea you made the right choice (thats what you want to hear right? )

Re: Mitsubishi EVO X
And that's the kinda problem I think! Having come from a suped up normal car like the John Cooper Works MINI S was I have moved into a different market and I'm not sure I have really got over my "chav" side yet!!

Re: Mitsubishi EVO X
That's one of the things that the EVO was always good at. It had real world, real road suspension so it is not track orientated but B road specific so on the road it was very good on handling. Agreed on the sound. That's one thing I am in no doubt that the Z4 is good at!ga41 wrote:Looks like it has a lot of body roll.. Doesnt sound like much either. Re: Mitsubishi EVO X
I guess that's the problem. It's quick, but it's just a souped up saloon! When I was going to buy another car I took out an M3. Great car but it's just a quick 3 Series BM! The Z4 is a different animal I guess because it's designed as a sports car. After a great run in the Z last night, I don't care if the EVO is quicker to be honest!!

I really like these cars and also considered one but it is just that here in the Uk they have a very Chav image. It is very quick but I would think the M is faster. Every time I have raced one of these super jap cars, Evo's and Impreza sti's, they are like sh#t off a shovel at first but at about 80mph they seem to lose their urgency. Very very fast through corners tho!!

Re: Mitsubishi EVO X
Straight line, at some point after 62 MPH and the Z4M has caught back up again! an M might be faster, but on an average A to B trip I very much doubt it!Jas667 wrote:I really like these cars and also considered one but it is just that here in the Uk they have a very Chav image. Hoping to test drive one in the next couple of weeks just out of curiosity.

Re: Mitsubishi EVO X
I had a look at the Evo at the last car show & from a performance standpoint I'm sure they'd be great.Breaker wrote:Yeah, that is the problem! Not in the same class as a Z4 to be honest!inTgr8r wrote:Too "boy racer" for my taste.
But I'm sure if you had one you'd have every souped up Civic wanting to race you.
& there are a TON of them here in Toronto

Re: Mitsubishi EVO X
Autocar road tested the Evo this week, TBH I was surprised at the performance of it (was a GSR-FQ-300 SST dual-clutch 'box) -
0-60 5.7
0-100 14.3
30-70 4.9
Not that fast is it, for 300bhp
