So I was out for a Sunday drive yesterday and one of these pulled up next to me trying to race.
We were both cruising at about 75 mph & I politely declined with a nod and a wave. Another guy with a Mazda 6 pulled up and the two of them took off at about 120 mph, weaving in and out of traffic.
Anyway, when i got home I looked it up and it's actually a very impressive car, 361 hp, 50/50 weight distribution 6 speed manual, 0-60 5.4 seconds. It's based on the Australian Holden Commodore. Edmunds is calling it the best Pontiac ever.

Re: Pontiac G8 GT
Too bad that it still has the standard, boring, Pontiac looks. The only thing to set it apart is the scoops on the hood.

That is a horrid looking car Looks quite similar to Monaro VXR but the VXR pulls it off much better IMO

Re: Pontiac G8 GT
Not too shabby of a car when you look at the specs. I do like the Vauxhall front end much better though.
So is this basicaly a 4dr reiteration of the GTO?

Re: Pontiac G8 GT
It doesn't appear that there is a manual transmission option on the pontiac
I don't think U.S. drivers fully appreciate their vehicles...or are just lazy. You'll rarely find a manual tranny over here...true sport car enthusiasts aside of course. Not that there's anything wrong with a good automatic transmission, but if you knew the number of Porsches, bmws, audis, etc over here that have auto transmissions, it would blow your mind! Again, nothing wrong with autos it just that I have to shake my head as I know most of the people buy sports cars just buy for look and never even care about performance...other than to say my car has X HP, or goes 0-60 is XX seconds.
