It's a very early 750sf 0 model (probably about 15 on the road in the UK) and was the closely related road going version of the all conquering SFC racer. The huge racing drum, exotic magnesium components , over-engineering and price led to Laverda's tag as the Lamborghini of road bikes. It pulls like a train and sounds very well on the original, virtually unbaffled pipes. It's had one previous owner in France before being imported and restored by the secretary of the owners club from whom I bought it. I stripped and detailed it, but these always require something and I've had to source parts from Italy, Germany and even Canada! So I have the Biffer 1000 to rely on

That Laverda is a thing of great beauty........I lusted after a Jota in my younger years
It was my bedroom wall poster bike and the Laverda legend started with the 750sf which was raced pretty much out of the box, those guys were impossibly cool :)

Not sure if this photo belongs here or on the mid-life crisis post! Can’t wait to complete the running in period with this crazy bike.

Riding over 40 years, this is by far the best bike I've owned.

That’s a stunning looking motorbike but a bit too much power for me.

Riding since 1990 and had a multitude of machines over that time. Currently own an old girl - Aprilia RSV Mille Gen 1 with a good few performance mods - 2-2 stainless system, Evoluzione race airkit, Forza FR200 ECU chip and 16/44 gearing.

Image

Main bike is currently a K1300S in Lava Orange with a few mods and a BMW Akrapovic can.

I'm also one of a handful of fire and rescue service instructors for 'Biker Down' which is a free multi agency course which teaches riders how to safely manage the scene of a collision and affords trauma care training to keep downed riders alive until the emergency services are in attendance.

Stunning bikes, I imagine that the Mille is lively! :)

... and Great work with 'Biker Down' for when things go wrong, hopefully I'll never be a customer but it's good to know that proficient hands may be on the scene

Love these. Used to work for Motorrad a few years back. The San Marino blue looks great on it.

I've had two Thunderbird Sports, one red and one yellow, both with the iconic twin exhausts on one side. It's embarassing how many Hinckley's I've had....... Tigers, Daytona's, Explorers and more!
