Hahaha bud, I said the same and Woolubear has already ordered one  one of the main things holding me off is whether I’d fit in the bloody thing. I’ll wait until I get a go of yours and decide

Car looks epic, and since it has to be a manual imo it means no AMG 4 pot option.

not sure how i feel about the v6 , never been a massive fan of that toyota v6.... i think the AMG merc engine option is better here and much easier to tune. shame about the DCT only option with this motor.

It’s not the most characterful engine and certainly not special from an engineering perspective, but with the right exhaust it sounds phenomenal*

*at least it does on the outgoing Exige and Evora

I’ve driven an A45S around the track at Eastern Creek and the power delivery didn’t seem spikey. Of course, the AMG setup for a front-biased 4WD will be very different from how Lotus have set it up for pure RWD, but I don’t find the idea of that i4 in the Emira as off putting as I expected to.
That said, I would want a manual gearbox in mine, which limits the choice to the V6.

Looks like Jenson Button has placed an order.

Cheap as chips by the sounds of it.

Looks great and sounds decent but like anything with looks and desirability leaving it parked on Tesco's car park would always be an unpleasant and stressful occasion so as an everyday car :?

Looking at that its built on an Evora chasis - looks smaller than I thought, still like it though :D

There’s been lots of discussion on the >60 page Pistonhead thread about whether it’s a rebodied Evora. The consensus from those close to Lotus is that the only components carried over are in the drivetrain (unless you chose the i4), and the only dimension in common is the wheelbase.

I would still prefer an Exige over the Emira, but I suspect that quite a few prospective Cayman GTS owners are thinking seriously about the V6 Emira.

I think it re-bodied on one their existing cars - just not certain they can spend 10's off millions on development despite being owned by Gheely.

I would still buy one - think it looks great

Fair enough, they will still only sell a few thousand a year which is their issue to be honest, niche vehicles but still one of the two brands I love and I have to ask is this the end of the Evora as this should sell far more

According to the JayEmm's reaction video the i4 engine option is not even from an A45S, but from the older 1st gen A45. Also since they said power will be between 360 and 400, I can only assume the AMG engine will put out 360 and you ll have to have the V6 option for more. What is odd though is the current Evora made up to 430hp in some of their trim levels, so 400 is a bit low for 2021?
