Panel Replaced and Repainted- Should I be bothered?

Women seem to have more pre-conceived ideas about cars than us!
The recent purchase of our Z4 is a good example:
My wife said she has always wanted a Mazda MX5 roadster. So, I started looking for an MX5 for her. I found the Z4s were better value for money than an equivalent Mazda. So I showed her the pictures of the Z4 and asked which she preferred. Without hesitation she chose the Z4. I asked why when she "had always wanted an MX5"? Her response was "well the Z4 is a BMW, the other is just a Mazda".
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

Might’ve been worth keeping in a shed Ron

I agree but that is from bitter personal experience, though, not pre-conceived ideas.
For me I have had ten Fords; escort mk3 van, Transit, Capri mk111, XR3i, RS Turbo Escort, 2 Sierras, 2 Mondeos and a mk5 Escort. I never had any problems with any of them (apart from the Capri but that was knackered when I got it).

Oh - bag of spanners or not it would be worth a Bob or two now - certainly more that the £4911 that I forked our in 1982

I’d had many a Ford to then but no more since, The car was junk and the dealership matched - I’m sure things have improved, I had may a Ford Hire car while travelling at work but couldn’t part with any of my dosh to Ford,
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

Going back to the C63. This one has caught my eye, maybe cos it's been detailed and is in doors but looks funky to me

Id like to at least try a newer Merc one day though. Am sure it would help break the circle!
Absolutely not - as you would confirm the circle as you will be an old git by then

The amateur photographer in me would suggest the funkyness perhaps would be the unnatural lights and the post process edit on that one.

The red looks like it been very over saturated and they have gone to far with the settings to try and make it pop.

Looks a good deal- do you really want a coupe? The lack of back doors and the extra seat was a deal breaker to me. If I was going to go "practical" I thought I might as well go the whole hog. The pano sunroof does look good on the coupe's mind.

Its got the Harman Kardon, optional 19 inch alloys and everything else they mention is standard.

The equiptment lists can be found here:
    https://forums.mbclub.co.uk/threads/c63-options.182609/

It wont let me attach them.

Funny, my OH had ZERO interest in cars until I got the Z4 and we headed round the highlands through Glen Coe which was then quickly changed for OUR Z4 but it had to be a 35 and she’s got more than a roving eye for a G29 but same again with that MUST be an M40i so quite a transformation.

I asked the question again only yesterday about was a G29 30i as a possibility, the answer no got to be an M40i because it’s got the biggest, fastest engine, she doesn’t drive the bl00dy thing.......................

No I really want a cab, but that isn't an option as they didn't make one and am not paying the extra for the new shape 4.0L.
I think the coupe is better looking than the saloon and it will only ever have 2 adults and a skinny 15 year old in it at most. It will be a toy, I have other "normal" cars aswell.
I still keep coming back to this though

My wife likes the 35is as she did the previous 3.0l but she will not drive it.
It’s not the performance issue, her car is the 335 and it is no slouch - I’m puzzled.

I think the coupe's roof opens really far- pratically a cab?

See if you can find a coupe with the PPP pack on it- red brakes, different steering wheel, darker "grey" engine. These are the more desirable ones so hopefully will hold their value more.

Plus the brakes are ace, you have uprated internals and an extra 35bhp

I can see the classic mistake you are making. You asked her. You don't ASK women, you TELL them. Try it, it's worked on all of my previous five wives! :P

My partner reluctantly drives any of the cars I have in exactly the same way she drives her 120d- change up at 2.5

If I had bought an s2000 I would find it hilarious. And she wouldn't get anywhere. :D
