One enduring memory I have is being in a multi-storey car park a couple of years ago (Leeds city centre). I was on the 7th floor and I heard this noise coming up the floors. I had to wait to see what is was. It was a modern 5L Mustang. It was probably the sexiest noise I've ever heard.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

No, its just something different and I think they will rise up in value as the 3000 are now dumb ass money and so far out of reach of mere mortals :D

There are two "classic" cars I would sell my house to buy:

1972 Toyota Celica RA23 (Cos it was our family car growing up)

Sunbeam Tiger. (the most beautiful car ever made IMO; with a V8).

I want a cab (it's for the three days a year it's not raining). Not sure what the "selshift" is. If it's double clutch and works, not too bothered

I bought an MX-5 as my second fun car last year and I love it. Also, as you seem interested in having something different or a bit of a project you can always go the Rocketeer V6 or BBR route to add more performance and differentiate it from the rest:

2018 F56 Mini JCW
2016 MX-5 2.0 Sport Recaro

My mechanic mate, who competes in rallies, has a friend who has had two of these that he gets to drive regularly. He says with all of the driver aids switched off it’s one of the most fun things he’s ever driven. He says it’s an absolute handful and you’re never sure which direction it’s going to spit you in but for out and out fun he says it’s right up there.

Small footnote, the reason the owner’s had two of these is the first one put him through a hedge but he says it was down to his own stupidity and he absolutely loves these cars

Jaguar XKR 5.0, starting to appear in the price range where I could justify it as a weekend car
