Decisions... decisions!

Post by Pondrew » Tue Feb 02, 2021 7:53 pm

I've pretty much narrowed it down to a "500 Ltd edition" M3 cab (the last few), as I think they may hold their value better than an "ordinary" one (even though there is not much difference in the cars), or an early M4 cab. At present they are both about the same cost for similar mileage but the M3 should hold residuals higher. Who knows?
I really need to drive both to decide; V8 n/a or straight six TT? I do really like the idea of a V8.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

I've driven both the E93 M3 Convertible(my BIL has one) and M4 Convertible(test drove one because I've always liked them), and I really liked them both. Roof down they sound really nice(especially the M3 with the V8). I'd be happy with either of them I reckon. :)

Update:
Changed my mind; AGAIN.
I have now almost certainly decided on an Audi RS5 tintop B8.5 (not ragtop)!
Just got to find the right one now. It must have a sunroof, low miles and comprehensive service history. You wouldn't believe how these high performance cars can get neglected! :o

Resurrected for anyone who gives a sh*t!
After months of indecision; head versus heart internal battles, I have finally bought a new car! Picked it up today.
It is a compromise, admittedly. Practicality (as the Swedish bus has gone) against fun.
As far as I am concerned it ticks all the boxes in varying degrees.

A year old Ford Focus ST ecoboost estate. :o

Now with added RS 2.3 engine. All the toys including pan roof. Has a bit of torque steer admittedly, but I have always been a fan of fast Fords.
I like it so far, I like it a lot :D

It would feel rude to put pictures of a Fix Or Repair Daily on here.

Sean the word is "sleeper". You need to get with us kids, bruvva :D
Seriously quick car, though. 1.4 tonnes, 280ps, LSD, clever suspension, forged pistons and internals, Michelin PS4s as standard. Recaros, B&O stereo, can get the dog in the back. What's not to like (apart from the looks)

Sleeper - far too old to use that terminology.

Love the hatch in orange although looks yellow to me - wanted one as a company car but P11D was a killer :x
