£33,000 for a fake. I just can't see the point in these sort of cars.

Well it looks like someone put a lot of time, effort and money into creating what looks like a reasonable rendition of a mega-expensive Ferrari, but why base it on a BMW?

Like Mister T I'd much rather buy the Breadvan.
Coupes because stunning!

Interesting Z3 based tribute car

I can see the appeal tbh, but that’s depending on how it’s been built. There are some absolute shockers out there, 355-ish, and I mean ish looking kits loosely bonded onto a rusty 190k mile £300 knackered MR2 with 3 lane motorway wide wheel spacers and tiny cheap 17” chrome wheels and sandpaper rattlecan paint, but the other end of the scale you do see some very very well done replica’s of old Ferrari’s etc. Gives someone a chance to have something to look at that is way out of normal possibility, done right I quite like them.
M roady...OEM CSL’s, strut brace, Remus back boxes, ZHP
MR2 MK 2
E89 35i project car...mapped 365bhp, M4 stoppers & wheels, KWV3’s, H&R front ARB, M3 front arms, strut brace Eisenmann cat back race exhaust, VRSF downpipes inbound

I agree. The key is nicely done. If it's hacked or knackered then it's the worse car possible. For this kit I think they stopped designing this car when they got to the center console. Looks like they nailed together a plywood box there and painted it  Other wise a nice looking exterior and a Z3 should be adequate underneath. Personally if I'm going to own a kit car then I want a British design with American horsepower.
I've been enamored with the Shelby AC Cobra for a very long time. Alas the real car is well out of my financial reach so I've looked more and more at the replicas. But frankly the majority of them are built upon the makings of 1980-90 mustangs which honestly aren't that good at handling and breaking. Quite a few of these kit cars present drum brakes in the rear  Other well put together cars going for more than a new Z4 :(
Which brings me to my search today = Austin-Healey Sebring kit car here > https://www.hagerty.com/media/buying-an ... in-healey/

This Z3 won best modified at Zedfest 2018. A 1961 Ferrari 250 GTO replica. Looked really nice & must have taken hours of work. No idea what it would be worth but as with all replicas there's got to be a very limited market :(

Well it's pretty to my eye. Apart from that nothing to make it worth more than a few k to my mind. Another who doesn't really see the point of this type of car. :?

Now cut off the roof and add a V8 sound track. :D

I've seen a few of these but they all suffer from wrong track width. I think the Z3 is too wide for the body, which means the wheels have to be quite skinny with the wrong offset, tyo allow them to sit inside the wheel arch.

The Mk 3000 Sebring is quite good looking and with a v8 and 5 speed manual I would be a buyer at the right price and I think the price is right. It's a poor mans Cobra... Well so be it. I'll take one :P
