2020 Nissan Juke (mark II)

Post by ThomasDE85Z4 » Tue Jan 28, 2020 11:05 am

Hey Guys,

I recently got to drive the all new Juke and I must say I was quite impressed with the car, I like the gadgets and features (speakers in headrests). However, it only comes with a poky 1l 3 cyl petrol and the 0-60 is in an age!!
I personally would rather have a year old X1/X2 than a new Juke at £25,000. What would you buy for £25k?

I made a video on it if anyone wants to check it out?

I've had the new Cooper S Countryman for 2 years and have to say it's the best all-rounder I've owned (I've had 50+ cars over the years). I chose it over the equivalent priced new X1 which it shares it's platform and engine range with, as it felt more sporting, was better value and looked a bit less staid (obviously a matter of taste). In moonwalk grey with black stripes and wheels it looks the part.

With the 8 speed auto / flappy paddles and a real quality feel to the ride, everybody who has been in it comments on it being a really comfortable but obviously a sporting drive. No problems so far and the only expenditure has been a pair of front tyres at 22k miles. Recommended

Looked at the new Juke but Nissan's reliability put me off which surprised me, ended up with a Hyundai Kona which is much better kitted out than the Nissan, heated wheel, ventilated seats, HUD etc, all missing off the Juke and you'd be lucky to get that on a secondhand X1.

Alas I have to admit to fairly narrow taste when it comes to cars. The Duke along with every other 4x4 family car in production, is well outside those.

Spend your 20k on a trip to New Zealand and buy an old Mondeo.

Well I have no need of anything "family sensible" so new Jukes, X1/X2 type cars do nothing for me. I have given up on newish cars as the ones I did have cost me far more in depreciation than my older ones have cost in repairs - and the newer ones still threw up some unexpected bills once out of warranty!

I'd just buy a lower mileage example of what I just bought, so a Z4 MC thanks! Or if it had to be an E89 a mapped manual 35i, but plenty on here would go for a 35is.
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

It would be as exciting and more useful than many a new 25k family car. :o

and you can do plenty with the 20k change you forgot..
