I’d recommend this book if you’re interested in an Elise, lots of info on the design ethos & evolution from S1 to S2 etc RobBMWZ4MC wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 12:31 pmFrom my reading, that’s the perfect combination for road use because you don’t need to ring it’s neck all the time to get the most from it. I understand that the 2zz in the 111R / Elise R / S2 Exige is like the S2000 F20C in its power delivery, so has to be worked hard to be really rewarding.Smartbear wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 8:47 pm
Elise S, using the Toyota 1zz 134bhp 5speed engine as opposed to the Elise R with the Toyota 2zz 190bhp 6speed.
One of the first ones with abs, although no stability/traction control at that time
Well suited to road use with its linear power and good fuel economy and still gets to 60 in sub 6seconds

I’ve been considering an S2 Exige or 111R as a daily driver (I’m a glutton for punishment), but I’m nervous driving something so small in a city full of Hilux Utes, 4x4s and SUVs. That’s without considering the massive road-trains out of town...

Ha! Mrs Smartbear wasn’t exactly a fan of them, especially now she’s been spoilt by the z4 comforts for the last 6 years

Unfortunately that book is now ridiculously expensive (current Amazon price £100 inc delivery).
Z4MC - heavily fettled for track use
Lotus Exige - sensible daily driver on the mods slippery slope
Westfield SEiW - in hibernation
Modified RS4 Avant - back in Blighty
S2000 GT - gone
