Advice on SLK

Post by Paulwirral » Sat Oct 26, 2019 5:09 pm

I bought a slc 43 amg , which is just a slk , new a few years ago and joined up to slk world . It's more of an American site but there's some good info on there , a lot about the number of diesel slks on forecourts . Apparently lots were bought on pcp or lease and there's a glut on the market so you could be in a good position to haggle the price down .
I've never driven the diesel version but they supposedly respond well to a re map . A mate of mine was going to buy one on the strength of the standard performance figures , if your of a certain age , they pretty much match a sierra cosworth in power , torque and performance :o how times have changed

Yes I am of that certain age...there are a lot on the used market I agree. Thanks I'll take a look at the SLK World.
Dont know whether to offer the car on the forum 'for sale' section as theres some nice bits on it or just haggle a better price at the stealer

At that sort of money you have to sell privately .
Good luck with the search .

Sell private then take a look over your shoulder when you start haggling over the slk price , if there's not a queue behind you waiting to buy it you'll be in a strong position :D

Moved to the dark side and bought the SLK. Only had it a week or so but it is such a nice car to drive. Beautiful looking in black. Miss the sound generator on the Z4 but I'm in love with this one so might be on the drive for a while

Yep...I'll take some this weekend and post. Completely different car to the Zed but lovely. Already started the mild modding by buying an SLC AMG grill with the chrome diamonds on which is being fitted monday...think itll freshen the front up
