Mr Wilks Porsche?
Totally taken with it Mack so right now its here for as long as that continues , my actual target car was a 981 Cayman circa £30k but during the search & scope period it was clear they were falling weekly (early 2019 average £750 / month but id say that has stopped now ) So not knowing quite where they would bottom out led me to playing my return to Porsche "safe" with a 997 .MACK wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 9:15 amI have to agree with you about the lobster claws, my favourite Porsche wheel from that vintage and a huge improvement, looks great.mr wilks wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 2:58 pm Thought id update this thread along the way for those interested in non Z related motoring , no issues uncovered & couldn't be happier with it especially now ive added my preferred choice of both wheels (Lobster claw 19s) & tyres ( new Vred Vorti R )
Looks more iconic now to me .
Already covered more than 300 weekend miles in the first month , more than i managed in 3 months with the outgoing 35is , fuel / mpg wise for anyone curious its a flat 6 na 3.6 litre manual , the numbers read virtually the same as a Z4M with the OBC reading 22/24 around town , 29-30mpg on a steady mway run & 18-20mpg driven with enthusiasm
It had a major service carried out at Porsche Centre 650 miles prior to my purchase (Mobil 0w40) but i will be having the oil changed to Millers Nano 5w40 sometime next week
What's your next mod (if any) and is this one a keeper or a fleeting flirtation?
Yes they too have fallen quite dramatically but i'm confident i bought at the bottom of the cycle & in a good position to enjoy it well into next year then perhaps step into a 981 , , we shall see but i really can't ever see me with a "keeper" of any marque

Beautiful looking Porsche there Mr. Wilks . I love how you have such a passion and a good eye for your vehicles, always looking out for the next big 'thing'.
And as others have said, thanks so much for your huge contribution and help on this forum - I hope you stick around.
