It sounds to me like you certainly made the right decision with the Lotus

The Anglian car auctions website are where I spend my lunch breaks, the estimates are almost always spot on and there are loads of cars that I want to buy, but a few of my picks from the next action are...

On the same vein as the post there is this...

But if I was after a project car I would certainly be considering this...

If I wanted to make money, (these have already started rising and I think they are about to sky rocket), this ...
https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic ... rsche-914/

and although there seem to be quite a few for sale in Holland already I could quite possibly drive away in this...

But no matter what I would never buy this lol...

Best of luck :)

Thx Shaun, also for your willingness to scope that offtheroad example. Did you ever find it back?
No more Lotus shennanigans for me I think. Theyre just too unreliable/problematic to be a viable project car.
The 914 is something that crossed me radar once or twice and I've also heard rumours of values increasing. A few for sale over here at the mo.

Why not come back to the UK and buy a relatively good Chimaera for £12-15k. I had a Chim500. It was in a terrible state. I spent £3k on it, then sold it on because I had a new baby but the new owner spent a other £2k and it was great. (I got it for free, and sold it for £9k so did pretty well on it)

Different, fun, powerful, easy to work on enough troubles to keep you on your toes :)

Yeah thx for suggesting, TVR's def on the radar and there's a few specialists over here to help with stuff i couldnt tackle. All the sub 10k cheap ones are usually rotten however.
No problem nipping back over to the UK anytime, it's like catching a bus for me but I'm based mainly over here at the mo.

Mine definitely wasn't rotten when I sold it but needed a bit of love.

In all honesty I can't speak for the market nowadays (I sold up 5 years ago) but then you would get a good 400 for circa £15k

What about a Toyota MR2 mk2 Chris, ultra reliable, tonnes of fun to drive, great sound track, stunning looks. go for post 94 versions and get safe handling.
They are starting to climb in value too

You had one didnt you Fred?
I remember seeing photos from either you or another member.
It’s sadly tainted and considered a bit of a chav car over here in NL, a bit like my old E36 coupe. You usually see them being driven by a particular sort of person, usually adorned in gold chains with tattoos with a penchant for being uneccessarily aggressive towards other road users.
One of the reasons I would experience no end of aggro from truckers I think.
Facing much the same sort of thing in the zed sadly.
Thanks for the suggestion, its a decent choice but I think I’ll keeep it off the list for now.

Still got it Chris, there are a few "Chav" versions on roads still, but plenty getting broken. My one is original factory spec and becoming rarer these days.

Lovely Fred - especially in red!

I actually trawled loads of adverts for these before I bought a Z4, but then my budget changed.

I'd still like one though - they just look so right!
Coupes because stunning!

It does need a bit of body work, but still pretty sound.
Now's the time to buy, the prices are starting to rise.
