I will get a free coffee but it’s in a poly cup with a sipping hole in the lid and no free biscuits.

Stop and get a proper coffee on the way there and buy a pack of biscuits, you will still be quids in.
In fact get a 3 course meal on the way home and still have cash left.

They look terrible when they should be almost new given the limited use they’ve experienced!

BMW were not interested. - I’ve just had to bite the bullet and cough up the £££‘s

I think it’s been a bad batch of parts - In my previous experience, under use normally shows up first on the rear discs - they are both currently pristine.

Is that rust at the periphery of the disc? If so, there’s been a huge unswept area - had the correct pads been fitted previously? I suppose you might be able to skim those discs and use them again.

The discs and pads were new oem - the deterioration is beyond skimming as they would go too thin .
I think they were sub standard from new.

The car was bought new in July 2015 and treated with care and respect - that’s probably why they’re goosed!

I’ve just had my front discs replaced early aswell, 38k and 4 years or so. They were equally disgusting as your pictures, did you ever have a ticking noise from the front?

No ticking noise but they always (even from branx new ) sounded a bit rough.

My 35iS fronts were ticking on full lock, and they whipped out a technical note from BMW HQ. Basically the default pads don't fit very well in the calipers, so wobble a bit and cause a ticking noise over rough surfaces / full lock. Pretty shoddy if you ask me! Has also given some premature wear to the front discs, and I got stung for the unknown M tax aswell! I think mine was £480 for just the fronts :headbang:
