That’s what they said about the Mosquito in WW2... which was able to fly faster, pack heavier guns & take more punishment than either a spitfire of hurricane
No doubt over 70 years ago it kicked ass, but back to 2019 I'm guessing the Eurofighter Typhoon isn't made of wood
Next time u go to Silverstone or elsewhere, go speak to some of the race teams - incredibly quite a few still use wood for custom splitters, rear defusers etc... as many of these parts are bespoke & it’s quicker & easier to make it out of lightweight wood such as teak etc... which is often lighter & stronger than its plastic equivalent.
Only learnt this when I asked my m8 WTF is the plank doing on the back of your race car...
