Ginetta copying Toyota?

Post by mmm-five » Wed Feb 27, 2019 7:07 pm

I saw this in a sidebar and clicked through as I thought it was about the Z4 Coupe/Zupra.

But it's for a new Ginetta.

Bit more than a new G29 too (by a factor of 8).
Trigger’s Z4MC
Some bits now over 163,000 miles, some less than 1,000 miles.
Individual Ruby Black, Individual extended champagne leather, plus many options

The only thing they have somewhat in common is that centergrille right under the bonnetbadge.
And there the similarities end imho.
Apart from that they're both fr coupes.

Those strange wings/airducts on the front make it quite unique. Something like the new ford gt and an i8 have but then on the front
Not particulary beautiful in my eyes, but I'm sure that if this comes to market it will be an absolute beast. Ginetta makes excellent racecars.

Reliability will probably be typically British with that in-house V8

It looks like a Formula 1 car or Pagani has mounted a Z4C and this is the bastard love child. Seriously, how does the designer of that god awful looking thing work for months on end, and then sit back and say 'voila, this is my masterpiece...!'

Yes. And they are always “reassuringly ugly”.
2008 Z4MC: heavy wheels | crap suspension | skittish rear end | wobbly engine | not enough induction noise | underwhelming turn in | inconsistent braking | lardy battery | chubby steering wheel
2006 Z4 2.5si: gone

I wouldn't worry too much about the look. We wouldn't see which way it went.

That is truly hideous. A case of form following function ? I'm sure it will be mind blowing to drive with 600hp and those aerodynamics but £400k?!!! Really ? :o
I've always liked the look of the G55 racer. Pity they don't do a road going version :(

I also love that they have spotted a gap in the market at the £400k price point. Not exactly a crowded place in the market to spot a gap
