It’s site between the S3 and RS3...and is priced roughly in the middle I think
RS3 is some 10k more I think which is probably more like M2 money

Golf R
Audi RS3
A45 AMG
The A45 and especially the RS3 are a bit more expensive. The discounts on the M140i is about 25% so they are massive bang for the buck.

4wd is always going to be a different driving experience to RWD.

I enjoyed my A45. It's just a bit too easy to drive and to hit that fun element it usually means silly speeds. Personally I think that is why most people go for the A45, Golf R and RS3. Anyone can be quick in one of those without much ability.

The Mlites are also cheaper to run. My M235i didn't need it's first service until around 23,000 miles and it was £235. The A45 is usually half that on mileage and the prices aren't far off double. All the consumable parts are very much AMG priced.

The M235i is also more frugal than the A45 even with 2 more cylinders and an extra 1l capacity.

The A45 turns heads and gets lot of attention. It does get a bit tedious with every VAG driver in the world wanting a race. The M235i doesn't face the same issues.

The Golf R did nothing for me. It's a competent tool that didn't excite me much at all.

I've not driven the latest 400bhp RS3, but the 360bhp last version was also a bit stale. Audi appear to like to set their cars up to feel safe and steady.

It is pushing it a bit.

My N54 wasn't far short of that either and they are easily lasting huge mileage.

That’s incredible that the same oil is left in an engine for 23,000 miles ..even more so with a turbo.

Conversely I have found my C63 much cheaper to run than any of my M cars ..

10 litres of oil and oil filter is £48 from Mercedes main dealer, twin air filters and pollen filters under £40..

Does the M140 have an LSD fitted or is it open diff ?
Or has it an Ediff in?

Beeman, what was the running costs of the A45 AMG?
I have been offered one that is nice spec at decent money...
Tax, fuel , do they tear through tyres and brakes?

Hhmmm , not sure you can correlate the cars that seemingly cover huge mileages & "lasting " following the intended manufacturers service regime :?
Highly likely as the cars pass out of pay monthly PCP/ lease deals in warranty onto private owners that the service regime is taken over by common sense with more sympathetic upkeep ie interim oil changes
