I like them, lots of variation in prices but they must be a tough sell as most have been for sale for a while, that could be a good thingautobahner wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 9:31 pm I have been looking for ages and watched loads of Youtube vids. look awesome and sound incredible. That's the only thing that has held me back. Resale. You have to buy one and expect to keep it at least a year- or buy very wisely so that it is tempting enough to sell on. Some tests have shown 0-60 in 4.2secs! Engines seem bullet proof... What's not to like - those that say 'hairdressers' are ignorant to be fair.

The same is true of most of these types of cars in my opinion.......the Z4MR doesn't seem to sell easily and my experiences of M3s would also back this up !autobahner wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 9:59 pm That's the only thing that has held me back. The exception to the rules are as you've already pointed out, you need to own either the best one available or the cheapest lol

Well that's probably just as true of a Z4M - most people will simply see a Z4! But then if you don't care what people think that shouldn't be a problem.
I never even considered an SLK - manual Mercs are about as rare as rocking horse poo. But I can see the appeal of the AMG just for the sound-track!
Coupes because stunning!

I would agree on both counts but both cars are probably a safe bet to put some money into, sink £10K into a three year old Focus or Astra and see how much you get back
They sound awesome but were sadly never fitted with a manual box so auto only

I took a good look at and a test drive in a 55 when I was looking 7 years ago. I bought the MR. The engine in the 55 is different, instant torque, but not as much fun once up and singing' IMHO. As always you just need to go drive them both.
Then buy the MR.
Then buy the MR.

I know, but I think you could get a manual 350 as a special order - which might have been an alternative to my 3.0Si.
Still it looks like you may have decided going by your other thread - good luck with your search.

Nothing is decided yet Mr Tidy.......the Z4 will always be my preference as I'm a BMW man at heart but if an AMG ticks the box's and is the right price then I might move to the dark side lol

Oh right - that's fair enough I suppose. It's not like you are considering a Korean Diesel!

XKR is a completely different type of car. The others will all run circles around one on a good B road.

How did you find the gearbox, given that MB don’t use them routinely?slick wrote: ↑Sun Sep 09, 2018 11:25 amMy 350 was a 6 speed manual
