Small Crack

Post by R60BBA » Tue Jul 24, 2018 10:27 pm

Just noticed this small hairline crack on my nearside rear alloy.

Can this be repaired or do I need a new wheel?

Also would this fail MOT?

Thanks

Wouldn’t fail MOT - the wheel is structurally sound. Any decent refurb/tyre place should be able to weld and re-finish it.

They’re OEM 67m 19s on Conti Sport Contact 3s.

There’s not much tread left and so plan on swapping them out for Michelins around September time.

Just annoying that this happened but oh wells...

They can be fixed, I've just had my offside rear welded and sprayed, although if I get another at any point I'll be fitting smaller wheels with larger tyres.
