New TT RS stage 1 0-60 etc

Post by Anakin » Fri Jul 06, 2018 12:40 pm

I have a Mapped 2010 MT TTRS its quick but the new ones are mental.
from a post on the TT RS FB page

Performance figures for APR Stage 1 E85R MY18 TTRS 8S.

1/4m = 10.58 @ 132mph
0-60mph = 2.90
0-100mph = 6.24
0-130mph = 10.24
0-100kmh = 3.02
0-200kmh = 9.37
100-200kmh = 6.24
60-130mph = 7.34

All times with part throttle limited launch control on standard 20” wheels and Pzero tyres.

mental ... :driving:

..but bloody hell yeh that is quick. Aren't these just shy of 400bhp out of the box? In which case I'm guessing the stage one is close to 500bhp. That a lot of boost for a 2.5l mind, not be too convinced of the reliability of that.

Should the 100-200 timing not be 6.35? Sorry, but working in finance for the last year has got me ocd about numbers addingg up ;)

But that aside, seriously quick, for the price those numbers are like GTR and GT3 speeds.
But handling and character cant comment as havent driven any

No, because one is a rolling start from 100kmh to 200kmh and the other times start from a stand still.

Interesting the negative comments most likely from those who have never even seen or heard them let alone driven one  the Rs is not "just a TT " its a very potent & competent machine that is rarer than a Z4M & has very few equals for the ££ spent to get in one .
Ok its previous model but currently running around 435bhp , it recently blew me away with embarrassing ease

Hardly surprising, considering it has 100bhp more and has a turbo, but yes, they are impressive motors indeed.

I've never understood the negativity about them. I guess many people just listen to Jeremy clarkson and pistonheads members.

Haven't driven one myself, but I can't imagine them being that boring. It would scare the life out of pretty much anyone and I bet it would do well down a B Road aswell.

:driving: Not driven the RS in this model. BUT we had a 2.0t...bloody awful and not a good engine...ans a 3.2 Quattro....both the MK2....and I did not like the drive in them tbh. Big n bulky and very little character compared to the original ones which I think drive very well....Not Z well, but still a nice drive with plenty of grip and feedback.
RSto me had to be in Avant form...
 Z in da Head.

Fair enough that different starts would explain the differences, but I would expect the rolling 100-200 still be a bit slower due to reaction times, but we’re splitting hairs, still bloody fast

Having driven a number of very fast Audi's I still have no desire to own one. No character what so ever. It's been a while though. But just looking at the current model turns me right off it. However fast and competent it might be. :)
