RS 1600i with 1,100 miles on. I saw this car years ago at the then RS centre in Chesterfield where it was up for sale @ £9,500.
Yours today for.........................£97,500 of your English pounds please.....!!
97 grand...!!!!!!!!!! Oh how I wish I’d bought it back then, but I didn’t want a white one....
What a donkey.......

Who would even give half of that money for it?
Not special enough, slow and above all it will drive like a broken trolley jack ..

Just because they want £97k for it doesnt mean they will get £97k for it.
Maybe there is an extra 0 thats not meant to be there.

I'm sorry but I just don't get this thing with old 'fast' Fords! Honestly £97k ! Just ridiculous.

As a former owner of a few, I can understand it - just not the prices!
I loved my Capri 2.8 Injections, but not enough to pay as much for one of those as my Z4C - that just seems crazy!

Bonkers. It's speculators that push prices of these cars up, not true collectors. Clearly there is too much spare dosh in some folk's pockets. Not a market I will ever understand.

Agreed had an RS2000 the later ones with the fishnet recaro seats and shovel nose front back in the day, they are now very expensive, not that quick and a bit jumpy on the road, having said that would love another bertone GTV again as they were special

I owned a Mk 1 RS2000 years ago. All the AVO plates etc. TDC 823M - I sold it early 80’s for about £1500 to go towards a Fiesta Supersport for Mrs K.

You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

Have to agree with all the comments, I really don’t know what makes them so desirable, only rarity I suppose, most have rotted away like an old Alfa Romeo. I’m a fan but even if I could afford it I wouldn’t pay 97k for what is essentially a warm Xr3i with a brake linkage to the right that makes the weedy 260mm stoppers even more.....erm....weedy. 115bhp as opposed to 105 bhp from an xr3i, just a wilder cam and twin coils, plus the twin roll bar up front from the S1 RS turbo, shark grey Scheel bucket seats and that really is about it, Madness...!!
