 think the clutch is definitely on its way out or in need of serious adjustment. Super high biting point and slips every change unless you release ultra slowly.
Give it a couple of run outs prior to changing, s's said the box is a very mechanical feel and I know if the car has been standing fir a while the friction plates get "damp" I found out this info on one of the Z3 forums. Worth a try before spending the bucks!

Quite rare to find the clutch going at 80k I’ve only ever had to change one clutch and that was at 170k. But if it’s a heavy clutch user anything is possible :poke:

Update on the car. Following jobs now complete:
- Inspection 2 - done. Apparently "a very clean example"
- eBay OEM 'Style 68' alloys; properly refurbished (dipped, fixed, powder-coated and lacquered)
- New, full set of Kumho Ecsta P71s fitted
- Front braided brake hose
- Replaced thrittle cable (this has helped with the slight clutch slippage)
- All annoying dents and dinks removed (thanks again for the tip Lynchy). I now have the cleanest Z3 in London :D

Next up:
- Replace seat bushes
- Braided rear brake hose
- Braided clutch hose
- Bilstein B4 shocks
- New wheel bolts
- Eibach Pro 30mm lowering springs
- New Longlife or Powerflow backbox

Got to say, she took some getting used too after the breadvan - mainly the reduced 100+ HP

Mine was a 1993 530 V8 which was nice until cylinder wear meant a new engine which BMW gave me but I had to pay for fitting! I changed it for a 99 528i which must have been the facelift Z3 unit? Beemer number 19 here :D

Looking lovely bud. I've used mine more than the other two this last two weeks. Love the feedback it gives.

Thank you gents. My aim to make her the cleanest, fittest and subtly meanest Z3 in old London Town.

Currently the project is ongoing and at suspension stage. To help me on my mission, springs arrived yesterday ready for a future 30mm drop :D

Regular Sport Seats as opposed to M Sport Seats (which feature a rib). Super comfortable but I do need to sort the seat bushes out as they are really worn!

To get you started look for the M50 manifold from the 2.5. This will unlock quite a bit of power from the mid range. Next open out the throttle body even an ASC delete. I’ve done a thread on zorg with dyno results after each mod. Good to see the bhp climb.
