What on earth can replace my beloved 3.0si Z4 coupe?

Post by bmwaddict » Mon Mar 19, 2018 7:59 pm

I was thinking recently what would I get instead of my Z4 if I needed 4 seats, probably either an Audi RS4 or a 996 Carerra 4, or maybe even a TTRS, all around £25k, none of those would be as much fun as my Z4 IMO and don't have the rare factor either.
I plan to get something, probably a MK2 Audi S3 as a fun daily and keep the Z4.
Currently zedless :(

I knew when I bought a Z4C that it was never going to do everything I need a car to do.

So I've got a 325i Touring for the mundane stuff! :)

I'm firmly in the "keep the Z4C and buy a daily" camp!
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

Considering you can pick up a daily for buttons, it's defo the way to go.

OP may want to be spoiled most days though. I roll around in a C Class estate most of the day and to be fair, it is pretty boring. If work would let me use the Zed or the Cayman then every working day would be a happy day.... :D

The Scirocco R is a good call from "Havard" , rarity value is high , build quality is high & performance is a real surprise with the intelligent front diff . they also take very well to modding & can easily produce 320-330bhp :driving:
Ive had the pleasure of doing a euro trip in one & Id happily take one over many of the above suggestions
3 ZMRs
3 E89s
5 Si coupes
5 Si roadsters

If it's Z4 handling with 4 seats, then maybe the an e46 M3 CS (not my postcode) would fit the bill?

Although it may end up replacing your Z4 as your weekend car :P

335i convertible or a 1st gen 135i cab (same engine) both livable, fast and fun options and will leave you with 15k spare.
MR-2 Turbo Rev2

Yep no Z yet. On the hunt.

Definitely in the 'buy a shed and keep the zed' camp.

I drove a M235i convertible last year it was an amazing machine , 4 seater , rapid , convertible ( soft top roof ) so not too heavy like the 4 series convertible and very chuckable ! Unfortunately I drove a 140i afterwards it was even better although it is a bit smaller and not convertible .
Best to try a few different cars I ended up with a Boxster 987 but that was to replace my Z4 E89 3.0i , one car catching my eye at the moment is a Panamera , 4 seats , fast & a bit rare also moving the right way to being a bargain .

25k will put you in many nice cars, take the 8-9k of your z out and keep it leaves you with 16k. Loads of choice, how’s about a nice E70 X5?
Z4 2.2 sterling grey,Msport seats,retrofit cupholders,cruise,footwell lights,sound gen and mfsw,18"ellipsoids,xenons+light washers,ZHPknob,folding mirrors,3"stubby,update wheel caps,gateway300 ipod, wind deflector to keep the wife happy!
