TVR Tuscan.
Or rather than chuck a ton of money at something else. Supercharge the M. Watch the porkers from the rear view mirror (most of then anyway)

Or for 20k less a low mileage 996 C4S?

Since when can you apply any sort of logic as to the value though. Performance wise? A Golf would outperform many (older) super cars but for these type of cars it is a heart thing.
Comparing a 911 price wise to a M makes no sense. I have (had) both and Mrs PVR didn’t like the M much as it was hard like a rock. The 911 she loves on the other hand as with the British roads, the M would make each defect feel like you hit a curb whilst the bigger 911 glides over that.
I do like the fact that you drive something a bit more special. You can’t put a monetary value on that.

Similar position here - there is very little to swap to. My Coupe is my only (roadworthy) car, and although it only really does weekend duty, a lot of it is on the motorway, so although I like them I don't know about the Elise. Then there's the issue of going from a 3.0 straight six to a small four pot. I'd miss the noise.
The Cayman S also appeals, but even then I'd be looking at putting a few ££££ in for something comparable in terms of spec / mileage to mine, and I just don't see where the money would be going. 996 Carreras are similar.
The 370Z doesn't seem that fast for what it is, and then there's the GT86, which I'd want to supercharge at least.
And to be honest, living where I do in footballer's wives country, there's only the Elise out of that lot that would turn heads like the E86 does. Can't see me selling it anytime soon.

A lot of people rate the Elise S higher than the R for road use, it’s got slightly more torque & a 5 speed box so it’s less “busy” and doesn’t require revving to the stratosphereTcochrane92 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2018 11:20 amOnly thing I'd really consider to replace my Z4mR would be a Lotus Elise, similar to this:

First off . I'm a pig. I have both, an M Roadster and a 911. Secondly, if you are looking at a Porker, it should be an S, my 2009 Carrera S (997.2) has 385 hp (400 with the sport Chrono), a big difference from the 333hp in my M. The ride is more precise than anything else I've driven and it is more comfy.
You will miss the "feel" of the Zed, the exhaust note, ..... and seats in the M are better than those in the 911. As mentioned above, the ride is much nicer in the 911, especially in granny mode (without the sport or sport+ turned on).
I love them both

As happy as I am bumbling about in my 69bhp Fiat
The only car at the moment to tempt me away from my Zed or in addition to it would be an early V8 manual Vantage

I would love an Elise / Exige but they are useless for practicality. I fancy one as a track day car at some point but I couldn't see me and the missus having a weekend away in one.Tcochrane92 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2018 11:20 amOnly thing I'd really consider to replace my Z4mR would be a Lotus Elise, similar to this:

If only I could fit in one. There would be no MR in the garage.
I still love my MR though.

Don’t be deceived, half of the space you can see is for the engine! The luggage goes in a small opening to the rear of the engine compartment

Ive sometimes had a similar thought but it's hard to top the ZMR in terms of bang for buck if you want a convertable for sensible money which wont lose too much money -my X100 XKR came closest and was easy on the eye . SWMBO preferred the Jag and i got got nice waves from other folk which i never get in the BMW .
Id maybe look at a X150 XKR now that prices are entering sensible territory .
