What great photo's OP.

By coincidence I was up in Rosyth on Tuesday and the guy I was meeting has a a LS7 engined Z06, as his daily driver. it's his third Vett. I was very jealous as I love the Z06. 8)

I survived and we had a brilliant adventure: my wife Beth, myself and 'Clive' the Corvette. :driving:

We flew to LA, picked up a hire car and drove to the owners house in Santa Maria, thankfully Highway 101 had re-opened the day before after the terrible mudslides some weeks earlier. In total we drove about 2500 miles via Historic Route 66, the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, horse riding on a ranch in Texas (Beth, not me!), trackday at Circuit Of The Americas before dropping the car to the shippers in Houston. The only issue was needing to add 500ml of coolant by the end, I suspect a small leak from a hose. We then flew to Nashville, picked up another hire car to Bowling Green and the Corvette Museum then a flight to New York and home, phew!
I am just waiting for a tracking number so I can check its route across the Atlantic, but expect the car to land in the UK in 6 to 8 weeks.
It drives well, you would never know it had almost 195,000 miles on it. Mod purchasing begun on the very first day with Z06 brake cooling ducts collected from the local main dealer, with oil cooling, brakes, final drive and more likely to follow.
It sounds like a little Ozzy V8 Supercar, but not as loud as my Z with the exhaust valve open of course. Fuel economy was decent at around 27mpg, but then it should do as it idles along at just 1400 rpm at 75 mph.
The brakes are pretty poor, but then it still had its original brakes pads, so these will get changed immediately as will the rear tyres (19" 285 profile, Chur-Ching £££). The ride is very good though, no crashing and seems to have good body control.
It feels fast but not as quick as the 4.2 second 0-60 suggests, probably because of the way it delivers the power with its long gearing. It isn't as good an all round car as the Z4M, but does have character and presence, even in the States where I only saw one other C6 over all those miles. I didn't see any Z4 of any type though which surprised me, loads of 3 series at the track though.

Looks like a fantastic adventure in a really special car...and you get to keep the car at the end
Looking forward to some pictures in a more familiar context back in the UK.
