and when it gets proper icy I will be taking her to an empty car park for a little tuition.

Looks nice, I’m sure it’ll serve you well at that mileage!

Yeah - I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and quiet it is, and I really don’t miss the power for pottering about. Only thing for Mrs B is that the steering is quite heavy. I don’t mind that, but I don’t know why it is so heavy as I wouldn’t have thought it would have a hydraulic system.
Pre facelift (LCI) E90s are all hydraulic PAS I believe. They changed to electro-mechanical (like z4) as part of the efficient dynamics stuff that came in with the facelift (58 plate onwards).

Ah, ok - that makes sense. We wanted a facelift in part for the efficient dynamics benefits, but unfortunately our budget couldn’t stretch quite that far at such short notice :(

Sad way to have to change cars but that looks like a nice sensible car with some choice goodies Bing, and it is certainly low mileage! :)

To be honest I'd avoid BMWs with the Efficient Dynamics - I had a 123d with stop/start. I can't help thinking that is probably why the stupidly expensive AGM battery died just after 4 years and 55K miles, followed by the starter motor at 6 years and 77K. :o I always turned it off after that!

As it's Mrs Bing's first RWD car, might a set of winters be worth getting for a few hundred quid? There are some on here just now.

Anyway I hope it serves you well.
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

Thanks Mr T - I have seen those wheels, and am tempted tbh. Not exactly the Christmas present she wants, but perhaps what she needs

Yes, I thought they looked like a good buy! And as the Rolling Stones said "you can't always get what you want....."

Yes, I wonder what that was

That 3 series does look like a nice car with decent mileage. If "he" can find your place  , the paint stuff would look good as well. He did a good job on the Audi before that went.

If you do get snow over there, at least you can use the current set of wheels to put some winter rubber on. Transforms the car.

Indeed, I got a very very good deal :P ... though there is a List of things I want to do when I get the chance. No rush, I’m not ever selling it.

Assuming he can find where we’re meeting, I’m seeing him Friday

Yeah, though I need to find somewhere to store 4 tyres or wheels if I do get winters ... and I just put 4 new non-winters on the M yesterday so my tyre fund is depleted :(

So far as I'm aware the only LCI cars with hydraulic steering are the 335 and M3, otherwise it did change to electric.

So they do! Never knew that. The weight difference in mine and the saloon 320d of the fil was very noticeably differnt at manoeuvring on the drive! Not like the z4 where you can do lock to lock with your index finger

Having driven the car a lot over the last 3 days the steering is honestly my only complaint. Which I reckon is not bad going given I’d never driven one before - I think we can live with it

Funny isn't it, everyone with a z4 wants to sack the electric steering off for hydraulic
