Well, 7 days turned into 3 months...life and work bloody annoyingly getting in the way. I'll endeavour to take some proper pictures this week and upload to show some of the finer details on the paint correction. I am also planning on writing up a weekend warrior guide to detailing a e85/86 Z4, with all the bits you need to factor in when taking on the challenge, so hopefully will get to this later this week.

So, it's in no way perfect and certainly not on the same level as D4dawg's masterpiece...but I have to factor in that I had this washed solely by Albanians at the station car wash for the last 2 and half years (sometimes daily as it's cheaper than just parking, go figure). Meaning it was totalled swirled up to f*ck...I did feel really bad every time I subjected it to the £6 car wash special, but consoled myself in that I looked after it mechanically (well the local dealer have done well out of me) and that one day I'll kick my ass into gear and get detailing again.

I took a few pics yesterday on a visit to Bluewater after the missus said 'yeah, I guess it looks a bit shinier than before' .... :headbang:

Lovely  . I'm hoping to get my CarbonBlack looking something like this, but the paint work is not in the greatest condition (some deep scratches from before I owned it). Looking forward to your 'weekend warrior guide' to see if I can pickup any pointers.

Definitely set your expectations on deep scratches, compounding IMO won't get rid of those really deep ones unless you wet sand it right back...and for a weekend warrior you'll need to be confident you can do this properly without hitting paint, which TBH I'd leave to a professional who can do it confidently.
