Best "back to black" product

Post by ChrisN53 » Sun Apr 24, 2016 12:49 pm

Hi guys,

Looking for recommendations for the best product to clean and restore the factory look of the external plastics on my Couple. I'm talking about the wing mirror bases, rubber and plastic window surrounds, the whippy and aerial base etc. Want them looking the deep black they once looked. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Chris.

Finish solution. It's a dye rather than a coating like gtechniq.
Makes a big difference. It's getting some great reviews from detailers and is really easy to use.

I'm working through auto glym bumper restorer - found it usually has OK results and is easily obtainable. Not blown away by it so will be switching brand when done for a bit of variety.

You motivated me to try my bottle of finish solution on my z4 scuttle panel tonight and it was brilliant. I've tried other products on it including sealants in the past and they didn't touch it. It's a weird plastic.

Brilliant product.

Has anyone tried Solution Finish on the dash and other textured interior bits? Or think it would work ok?

Some people say boiled linseed oil (or boiled tung oil) is the best. Its an oil that polimerizes (so hardens after it penetrates the plastic)

I never tried it though. maybe I will sometimes.

Been recommended before, but when I tried to buy some it had been sold out everywhere!

Pleased to say that I've just bought two bottles from your link - many thanks!

Great choice Chris.

Just to show you how good of a choice it was, take a look at this for longevity.

Get the prep right and C4 will be unbeatable.

Its always sold out everywhere (Im not sure turtlewax make it any more) ... that seller seems to put up a few at a time. two bottles is probably enough for a decade so you should be set ...
