Scratched windscreen

Post by SiJar » Fri Nov 06, 2020 7:01 pm

I’ve just purchased a cheap runaround and noticed that the windscreen has some very light scratches where the wiper was either catching the glass or the Wipers had some dirt/grit lodged on it. So can any one recommend the best way of removing the scratches?

I machine polished my E86 windscreen a couple of years ago as it had historic wiper marks which were quite deep in places. I used 3M Glass Polishing Compound and Flexipads Rayon glass polishing discs. I worked a small area at a time (12 sections) and sprayed water occasionally to keep the screen cool. The result was far better than I had hoped for and I was really pleased with the result. I further polished with a lighter polish and pad, added a sealant and replaced the wipers with new ones. Very pleased. :)
I used to have two boys and a girl. Now I have two Men and a Woman. :?
