Missing bracket

Post by Judley » Wed Apr 01, 2020 2:19 pm

Afternoon guys. I’m missing the bracket from the right hand side of my boot mechanism. Does anyone know if this is a dealer part or one to find at a breakers yard?

Unfortunately you can't buy that part alone, it only comes as part of the full tray assembly

You could utilise some cable ties as a stop gap measure

Good idea Rob but I couldn’t stand looking at that long-term every time I open the boot :headbang:

I wouldn’t like it either, but it’s better than leaving it with only one bracket taking the strain & only a temporary measure :?

I have no experience of anything like this, but is this something that could potentially be 3D printed? Maybe a market for someone?

I’m sure it could be. Looks like a pretty simple part to me but quite flimsy.

There's a couple for sale on Ebay... ouch! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-Serie ... ondition=4

Try Silverlake or Synetiq both of them are breaking E89's
