The gun itself is great, really solid bit of kit with good adjustability.

That said, I’m undecided regarding snow foam in general, hence I’ve used the gun and foam maybe 3 times on my daily driver.

Is it just a gimmick then? Knowing me, I’ll ise it once and put it away

Do you get good results once the foam has done its magic?

My understanding of it, is that’s it’s a pre wash to remove / loosen dirt prior to hand washing to reduce swirls on paintwork. I’m sure someone else will correct me if I’m wrong.

But my car never really gets that dirty between washes, so never really saw any noticeable results after using it.

Maybe I’d get better results using a different foam? I’ve only used the Pro Kleen foam. I might give it another go......one day!

I'm not convinced by the Snow Foam. I have used it on my wife's white car and I really don't see any of the dirt shifting.

I use snow foam now and again on our cars only because I have it.
To be honest I think the same amount of dirt would come off just using a pressure washer all over the car.
It looks good while using it and makes a mess of your driveway until it disappears.
You will always have to wash your car normally to get it clean.

It's basically a citrus covering designed to soften crud. Slightly better than a water based citrus spray as it dwells on the car longer.

Auto finesse have just brought out a ceramic snow foam, which is the same as a water based spray (same technology, Si02) but I guess as above allows it to dwell on the car longer giving better coverage.

Whatever the active ingredient a spray or a foam are both designed to do the same thing, one is just easy to see and softer on the car.

I use a snow foam and a citrus spray for a full detail. The spray acts as an intense hit on heavily crudded up areas (inside door frames for example) that a foam, as its light, just won't agitate on its own.

All personal opinion...and at the same time fact. :P

It's a simple equation. When you contact wash your car you will scratch it, you can't avoid that. The pre-rinse and snow foam will maybe reduce the chance of those scratches by 20-30% by softening and slightly loosing the dirt, meaning you have to reduce your contact wash effort and time...nothing more complicated than that.

I have used snow foam for many washes and have now stopped using it as my cars don't really get very dirty and I have not noticed any difference when I did use it. However, when I clay the car (with a clay cloth) I find it is an excellent lubricant and now that is the only time I use it, once every three years after washing and decontamination. :|
